Jokers Drop first 2 Games to open Spring Session

The Jokers of Doom came up with a revised roster and moved down to E division dek but the results have not yet been tangible after dropping the opening 2 games of the Spring season by scores of 8-3 and 7-0 however both games were against the top team in the division, Honey Badgers. In the opening game, the Jokers quickly fell behind 3-0 before Ken Herren tapped in a loose rebound early in the second period assisted by Aaron Duncan and Frank Melillo. Unfortunately the next 3 goals went to the Honey Badgers before Rich Orsini blasted home a goal to make is 6-2. The Honey Badgers would tack on a couple of additional goals before the second period ended. John Venditti score the only goal of the 3rd period for an 8-3 final score. The Honey Badgers would pepper Jokers goalie Matt Dutily with 37 shots in the game. Ex-Jokers Jeremy Battye and Rob Kurdy both scored hat tricks in the game.

In the second game, the Jokers with only 5 players and a goalie would play very well early ending the first period with only a 1-0 deficit and had several good chances from John Venditti and Justin Cossette. In the second period the Badgers would tack on a couple of more to make it 3-0 after 2 periods. In the 3rd the Jokers would just wear down and allow 4 more goals for the final score 7-0. Once again ex-Joker Rob Kurdy would tally a hat trick against his old team, and Greg Benoit earned the shut out.
